Sideline Pass Field Trip: Bringing Joy, Pizza, and Surprises to Local Families!

Sometimes, the best days happen when you step away from the everyday routine and just focus on having fun. Recently, the Sideline Pass team had the absolute privilege of taking families from the New Orleans Women and Children’s Shelter out for an unforgettable field trip to Westside Bowling Lanes!

From the moment we rolled into the bowling alley, the energy was electric. The parents and kids laced up their bowling shoes, traded tips on the best ways to roll a strike, and cheered each other on. There’s something truly magical about seeing kids completely lost in the joy of the game and watching parents take a well deserved breather to share in the fun.

Of course, no epic bowling day is complete without food. We made sure everyone was fueled up with plenty of pizza and cold drinks to keep the energy high.

Just when the kids thought the day couldn't get any better. Jen Hale surprised the families with more FUN by treating the entire group to an early dinner and an afternoon in the arcade! Watching the kids' faces light up when they realized they were headed to the arcade!. The arcade games and extra treats were the ultimate cherry on top of an already amazing day.

Why We Do It

At Sideline Pass, our mission goes beyond sports, scholarships and community events, it’s about creating moments of pure connection and normalcy for families who might be going through a tough time. Seeing these families smile and create happy memories together is why we do what we do.

A huge thank you to wonderful staff at Westside Bowling Lanes, New Orleans Women and Children’s Shelter and to everyone who continues to support our community outreach efforts. Together, we're making an impact, one smile at a time!
